Moliets, a typical Landes seaside resort
Near the campsite in Messanges, Moliets, which comes from its official name Moliets-et-Maâ, is a seaside village located on the long coastal stretch of the Atlantic, known as the Côte d'Argent. Moliets is located in a quiet coastal spot, between Soorts-Hossegor, in the south and Mimizan, in the north.
The village of Moliets is located a few kilometres from the coast and, with its historic centre, built around the church, is typical of the region. It’s a lovely village and a nice place to stroll, but its main attractions are its seaside activities: its long sandy beach, for example, is a well-known surfing spot.
The vast beach is used for numerous activities and sports, whether it’s beach volley ball, volley ball or angling. Although you may, of course, prefer to laze in the sun with a good book or go for a nice swim in the Atlantic.
Moliets is also one of the few villages to produce “vin de sable”, namely wine made from grapes that grow in sandy soil.
